The strength of her influence cannot be overestimated, because all human characteristics originate in early childhood, when the mother is always there. To justify my opinion, I will give literary examples.
In the story of Leo Tolstoy's "Childhood," the mother of the protagonist taught children kindness, tenderness, and openness. Sons loved her very much, because from this woman came the angelic radiance of meekness, affection and joy. Her gentleness and sensitivity were transmitted to Nikolenka, who painfully perceived every event in life and subtly felt the mood and atmosphere in the house. Also, the mother was able to teach her children to live in love and harmony, content with the company of family and friends. Arriving in the city, they could not immediately adapt to it, because the children, accustomed to the sincerity and naturalness of their mother, did not like the fuss and tense manner of light. In part, Nikolai can even be called effeminate, since he inherited many maternal traits and habits: he was easily embarrassed and lost in public, was too suspicious and driven. Thus, the character of the son absorbed everything that the generous mother soul poured out: vulnerability, love, sympathy and tenderness.
In the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky, “Crime and Punishment,” we meet Rodion’s mother, who arrived in the capital with his sister. This is a meek, modest and kind woman who sincerely pities those who are in trouble. There is no stiffness and suspiciousness in it, it is open to the world and people, it wishes only good to everyone. In it we clearly see the reflection of her son and daughter, because they were just as good-natured, natural and even capable of sacrifices for the sake of love and family. So, Dunya wants to get married by calculation, just to help the family get out of poverty. A mother does everything for her children, for example, gives the last money for Raskolnikov’s education, denying herself everything. Obviously, the influence of the mother played a major role in the development of children.
Thus, it is the mother who has the strongest influence on the formation of the character of children due to the fact that she is next to them from the first hours of her life. In this fateful time, a person takes over all the habits, qualities and habits of the one he sees nearby. This process occurs subconsciously, and our behavior in the future depends on it. Therefore, they say about the defining personality traits of the personality: “He absorbed it with his mother’s milk.”
