A short but very informative story about a responsive teacher and a grateful student can be useful to each student, because you can find a lot of excellent arguments for an essay in it. Therefore, our team presents the "French Lessons" in abbreviation.
(428 words) The protagonist of the story is an eleven-year-old village boy. In 1948 he goes to the 5th grade. In the village everyone considers him to be a man of letters, the school curriculum is easy for him. People advise his mother to send her son to school in the district center, although she is 50 kilometers from home. “In the village it’s already hungry, it won’t be any worse,” the mother thinks and puts our hero in an apartment with a friend in the district center.
In the new class, the boy quickly got comfortable, studied well. Only French was not given to him in any way: although he mastered grammar, he did not get along with pronunciation. The young French teacher, Lidia Mikhailovna, frowned each time after hearing her student’s inept speech.
Soon, the main character ends up in a company where they play for money for money. The rules are simple: coins are stacked upside down, then beaten with a cue ball so that as many coins as possible are turned over by an eagle, then all of them are considered to be a win. The mother sent the boy 50 cents for milk, he played on them and often won. Then Vadik, who started the company, began to cheat. Our hero convicted a high school student of a lie, for which he was beaten.
Seeing the bruises on the face of her student, Lidia Mikhailovna asked him to stay after class. She asked him about the family, the village, found out that he was playing for money because he was starving. The boy was afraid that he would be taken to the director and expelled, but Lidia Mikhailovna did not give anyone a secret, but only announced to him that they would now study after classes, and then at her house in the evenings.
A little later, the main character comes a package with pasta, sugar and hematogen. He immediately understands that this is not from his mother, because in the village of spawn, there would be no pasta. He gives the parcel back to Lydia Mikhailovna and says that he cannot accept the products. French lessons at home continue. The teacher is struggling to protect the boy, feed him and teach. She even came up with playing with him in "zameryashki": coins are thrown into the wall, and then they try to get her fingers from her coin to someone else's. If you get it - your win. Our hero considered this a fair competition and often played with Lidia Mikhailovna. But once she began to cheat not in her favor, so that the boy would get more. They began to argue, and the headmaster, who was a neighbor of a young teacher, came to the loud voices. He realized that she was playing with the student for money, but did not begin to listen or find out why she did so, although, of course, she did not need the means.
A few days later, she went to her home in the Kuban, and in winter another package came to the boy. Macaroni lay in even rows in it, and under them were three red apples. Our hero never saw apples, but immediately realized that it was them, because that was how the French teacher described them to him.
